Have Google Approved Motorola Mobility

Google plans to acquire Motorola Mobility seems to have lived in sight. U.S. and European regulators approved Google's purchase Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc. for 12.5 billion dollars.

The acquisition of Motorola Mobility is the largest in the history of Google. It is also a milestone in which the owner of the Android operating system that will plunge into the hardware business, a market where the company has not had much experience.

Google's effort to buy Motorola, following 17 000 patents and 7,500 patent applications, viewed as a move to compete with rivals such as Apple and defend itself and Android mobile phone manufacturers in patent litigation.

The purchase will make Google has one of the largest patent libraries in the mobile industry, as well as to manufacture the hardware that enables Internet giant is developing its own mobile product line.

Although Google says that they intend to run the Motorola as a separate business unit. However, it took steps to make some investors remain concerned about the decline in Google's advantage because it will be plunged into a hardware maker.

Google's move to buy Motorola Mobility occurred shortly after he tried and failed to buy Nortel patents. The winner consortium led by Apple, in which there is Research in Motion Ltd., Microsoft Corp., EMC Corp., Ericsson, and Sony Corp..
